Seasonal Weather:  

  • Dry Season (June to October): This period features warm to hot temperatures during the day, ranging from 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F). Nights can be cooler, dropping to around 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F). Skies are mostly clear with little to no rainfall. 
  • Wet Season (November to May): Expect warmer temperatures, often between 20°C and 30°C (68°F to 86°F) during the day, with nighttime temperatures ranging from 15°C to 20°C (59°F to 68°F). This period includes short, heavy rain showers, particularly from March to May, with increased humidity.  

Room type 

  • The lodge offers 25 en-suite tents (2-3 guests each), each built on a wooden platform with a private balcony overlooking the Serengeti. 
  • The family room can accommodate 4-5 guests. 
  • The tents are modern yet retain an authentic safari feel, providing comfort and luxury in the wild.  

Approximate Price range 

For 2024, Lahia Tented Lodge offers the following rates per person per night: 

  • June 1 to October 31 and December 16 to December 31: $529 
  • April 1 to May 31: $340 
  • November 1 to December 15: $436 

These rates are per person per night, unless specified otherwise. 

  • Inclusions: Accommodation, full board with three meals daily, drinking water, tea and coffee, drinks, including water, soft drinks, and house wines. 
  • Exclusions: Special camping fees are not included in the rates. These fees are $59 per adult per night and $11.80 per child (ages 2-15.99) per night, inclusive of VAT.  

Location and How to reach 

Lahia Tented Lodge is in Central Serengeti, positioned on a hilltop with panoramic views of both Central and Western Serengeti. 

  • By Air: Various charter companies operate daily flights between Arusha and several airstrips in Serengeti, with a flight duration of about 50 minutes. Connections are also available to Zanzibar and other National Parks. 
  • Distances by Air: Grumeti Airstrip to Lahia – 25 km, Seronera Airstrip to Lahia -70 km, Naabi to Lahia -120 km 
  • By Road:The drive from Arusha to Lahia Tented Lodge takes approximately 5-6 hours on a well-maintained tar road. 
  • Distances by Road: 305 km from Arusha to Seronera, 260 km from Tarangire National Park to Seronera, 155 km from Manyara National Park to Seronera
